Have you ever noticed how long a reputation takes to break?

How, no matter what you do, something, somehow keeps on tasting the same?

What makes us keep on looking at a person or a situation with ‘old’ eyes instead of ‘fresh’ ones?

Take for example a family. Dynamics and conditionings are so well established in them. It becomes very obvious what kind of responses will appear, what triggers what, reactions, one’s behavior and who is ‘what’.

Isn’t so?

There are many angles from which we can look at this subject … We can enter the ‘blame’ world, the ‘expectation’ world, the ‘lack of responsibility’ world, etc.

But my intention writing this post is more about the ‘THOUGHTS’ world.

One thing I can clearly state and keep on witnessing on a daily basis is that thoughts are very very POWERFUL.

Going back to the subject of reputation, what I got to realize, it that the more a group of people thinks something of somebody, the more this ‘somebody’ will be stuck. First impressions huh? You bet. But also the more this ‘somebody’ thinks that he IS the reputation, the more he will remain that, and again, will be stuck.

What I’m tempting to share here is yet simple, but deep. Thoughts create a current around which ‘grids’, ‘systems’, ‘boxes’…call it what you want, get built. They create a container in which behaviors are ‘controlled’, consciously or unconsciously, following that specific direction. Of course that prevents chaos, but that is not the point.

What would happen if that individual becomes aware of that? Present enough to feel that some ‘force’ is pushing him to act a certain way?
Maybe he would realize that he is addicted to the reputation? Maybe he would realize that the people around are addicted to his reputation? Who knows.

What if, consciously, he would step out of that current, the one that guides him to reproduce, over and over, the same pattern? Without wanting to necessarily leave the playground, but to help a shift to happen, like a small cut in an electric circuit. Bzz…just a little bit of overheat. Maybe things will change, maybe they won’t, but at least things will become clearer and then choice can happen. The individual will not be blind and self trust can flourish.

Layers and layers of boxes yes.

But I believe there is a way to Play in them without identifying to them. The question to ask is : What is the common goal?

Thanks for reading through, and again, feel free to play by commenting!
