Spent a whole day last weekend creating this drum.
After all those years feeling the call to create my own, timing was right this time as I heard the beat pounding. Pounding and pounding.
From raw materials to final result,
what a humbling process of appearing and showing up it was.
Working with my hands, with my physical strength, being perserverant, not quiting, asking for help, feeling the insecurities of not knowing, feeling the vulnerability of choice and the child like innocence of wanting it to be beautiful.
Owning up to that call, drum beat it is, birthing something that will be of greater service.
Ending surrounded by all the colours and diversities, each unique in their own expression, faces glowing.
Very symbolic process.
And oh my, such a balm to the heart.
